If you received an email and If not, please give me 5 minutes to show you some things you've probably never thought of before. If you strongly oppose evil, and if you're a passionate defender of
virtue and righteousness, you will eventually be called an
"extremist." To these people I say, "Thank you!" I'm just an ordinary guy, but I'm trying to become an "extremist." If you're an ordinary person, that will surprise you. I'm a Christian, and Jesus Christ says if I am not an extremist,
I am not a Christian.
Is Jesus going to vomit you out of His mouth? Does that seems a little "extreme?" If it does, you're a victim of educational malpractice. America was once an extraordinary nation. America was the most prosperous and the most admired nation in history. This is because Americans were extraordinary people. Today America, once prosperous and admired, is bankrupt and despised. And Americans, once extraordinary, are now afraid of being called an "extremist" by ordinary Americans. America's Founding Fathers were "fanatics for liberty." They were willing to risk "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor" to fight a government they called a tyranny, but which was far less tyrannical in every way than our government today. They were "extremists." If you were born after 1960, you're a victim of educational malpractice. Consider this quiz: You're a teacher. You teach in a government-run school. Your paycheck comes from the government. But you find yourself in a strange nation. You're not allowed to teach your students that the Declaration of Independence is really true. What country could you be in?
"d" is not incorrect. "e" is the correct answer. It is illegal to teach children in "public" schools that the Declaration of Independence is really true. Students can be taught that a bunch of dead white guys in 1776 used to believe that it was true, but you can't teach that the Declaration of Independence really is true, in every nation, regardless of what anyone thinks about it. The federal government says you cannot even endorse, much less promote the ideas found in the Declaration of Independence:
And you certainly can't teach public school students that they have the duty to abolish any government that becomes more tyrannical than the benevolent and Christian government of Britain of 1776. Now, be honest: if the men who tossed the tea into the Boston Harbor could see your government, could see how much of your income is confiscated by the government, could see how that money is used to promote atheism, immorality, and socialism, and could see what you've been doing to abolish this tyranny (nothing), would America's Founding Fathers think of you as an exemplary American? Would they think anybody could become a true American when they are educated in schools where American values are illegal? You've been brainwashed. You can't imagine believing the way America's Founding Fathers believed. You don't want to be an "extremist." That's why, as a Christian, you make Jesus puke.Once again:
Obviously, we should be extremely good.
Jesus has more respect for Adolph Hitler than for the lukewarm Christians who did nothing to stop the holocaust. At least Hitler got off his duff and acted. A true Christian is an EXTREMIST. Your church teaches the doctrine of "Justification by Mere Belief." The Bible teaches "Justification by Allegiance." And your ultimate allegiance is to the government and the mainstream media. You care more about what your neighbors say than what Jesus would say. And you're not alone. But you can become an extraordinary Christian. You are created in the Image of God. You have extraordinary potential. Because you live in a society dominated by envy, you don't want to appear too extraordinary, because your neighbors will think you're "judging" them. But your goal will be to help your neighbors become extraordinary too. Are you ready for personal transformation? Are you ready to become
It seems like ordinary people resist becoming extraordinary. I'm convinced this is not a good idea. If you want to avoid "extremes," then you want to be at point "M" on the chart below:
When you die, do you want to be remembered as a person who was "extremely loving" or "extremely devoted" to your children, or do you want them to remember you as someone who avoided extremes, and was just moderate or indifferent toward your children? Do you want to be a Grade "A" Christian? Then you had better avoid being a Grade "Z" Christian with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Extremists are usually slandered with bad-sounding labels. If I try to share my faith with others, people say I'm trying to "impose a theocracy." If I say we should cut wasteful government spending, I'm accused of being an "anarchist."
I think Jesus wants me to work to restore "Liberty Under God." If "liberty" means "anarchy," and "under God" means "Theocracy," then I guess "Liberty Under God" means "anarcho-theocracy." And big bad words like that cause ordinary people to retreat into their shells, and stick their heads in the sand.
If you are not an extremist in defense of "Liberty Under God," what is the guiding principle that prevents you from being a defender of tyranny, atheism and hate? Is "moderation" the Grand Principle that you believe will keep America from collapsing into chaos and lawlessness? When Jesus said "Love your neighbor," was He really just telling us not to hate our neighbor, to avoid extremes, and have an attitude of "moderation" toward our neighbor? Can Lukewarm Indifference ever be Christlike? Even if my goal were no more than "moderation," if I am at point "Z" on the chart above, I need you to tell me to be be an "extremist" in the opposite direction, and encourage me to pursue "A" in order to get me to point "M," because if we only advocate "Moderation," "Z + M" only brings you us to point "T." Life is a tug-of-war.
If . . .
... then evil people will pull the rope of life in their direction, and you, your family, and your country will end up in the muddy middle. God wants you to love Him with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. Only by being an "extremist" can you counter the efforts of extremely bad people. And America's Founding Fathers would say that a lot of today's most respectable politicians and pundits are extremely evil people.
I'm shooting for "A" on the scale above. A C+ is not my goal. I want to persuade you to adopt "A" as your goal as well. If you're a Moderate and I move you toward "A" to any degree, I've succeeded. For now. Here is a perfect example of "extremism."
What right does God have to demand ALL my heart, ALL my soul, ALL my mind, and ALL my strength? I've already had a stressful day at the office! For too many people, loving and obeying God is a part-time responsibility. The ordinary person is indifferent to the God who created the entire universe and gave us the gift of life. Jesus said our grateful obedience to God should be a passion, full-time. This does not mean being a missionary or cleric. It means obeying God's commandments in every area of life, with no zones of neutrality. Extraordinary love. Extraordinary devotion. Extraordinary quality on the job. Better than ordinary. More than moderate. But I "made a decision" for Christ! "Once saved always saved." How can you suggest that I'm not saved? Why do I have to be an "extremist?" It's not politically correct to say this, but the Bible says that some people are excluded from the Kingdom of God: John 3 "OK, some people are excluded," you reply. "But I don't commit any of these acts!" But Jesus reserved some of His harshest criticisms towards those who thought of themselves as "good," and "respectable" -- those who held "extremists" in contempt. Do you recall Jesus saying this:
When was the last time you visited someone in prison? Jesus said many things like this that offended even those who were "His disciples":
And of course, the religious leaders of His day wanted Jesus the Great Teacher and Healer put to death! Talk about "extremists!"
Can you be a half-way follower of Christ? No. If Jesus is not 100% your Lord and Master, He is not lord at all and you deceive yourself. If you reserve even a whit of autonomy for yourself, you are in fact claiming complete sovereignty. Even if you choose to follow Jesus 99% of the time, it is still YOU who are choosing, you who approve of 99% of Jesus' commands, you who put yourself in the place of God and judge some of what Christ said to be wrong, you who are acting as lord of your life. You view religion as a Smorgasbord. You pick and choose depending on what YOU like, but do not view the Word of God as an absolutely binding package deal. Everybody agrees with something Jesus said, even some real sickos. A Christian is someone who believes everything Jesus said. Nothing less than full submission counts for anything. We've got to be extremists, or we're going to be losers.

Will you be the next Great Extremist? One of the best ways to become a great extremist is to help others become extremists. That's why I've created a home-study program to help you become an extremist, and keep from being vomited out of Jesus' mouth. |
Barry Goldwater, the 1964 Republican Nominee for President, responded to repeated accusations of "extremism" as follows:
Indeed, some have argued that libertarians are the only moderates, because they avoid the anti-human extremes of war, confiscation of property, and a Messianic State. And now, the "New Direction" Democrat Congress wants to arrest anyone accused of being an "extremist." Details here.

"Self-Evident Truths"Vine and Fig Tree will be considered by most Americans to be a "radical" or "extremist" organization. Sam Adams' call for America to declare independence from Britain was considered to be radical and extremist, and most Americans did not actively support it. Many people who are criticized as "extremists" are justly criticized for supporting a bad idea or cause (e.g., racism, jihad), and doing so in an obnoxious or violent manner. We believe there is no higher, more noble, or more ethical cause than working to bring about Micah's "Vine and Fig Tree" vision, and we are committed to doing so in a logical, winsome, and peaceful manner. But those who feel that Vine and Fig Tree is "extremist" are correct, as we'll see below. Let's begin with America's Declaration of Independence. That document declares that there are certain "self evident" truths. Anyone who begins with these self-evident truths and pursues them with any consistency ends up with Micah's "Vine and Fig Tree" vision, as America's Founding Fathers did:
There is nothing more important for any human being than to line up under these self-evident truths. Our conscience tells us about these truths. Atheists are self-contradictory and self-destructive. Tyrants and dictators are dangerous because they seek to "be as gods" (Genesis 3:5). And everyone who rejects the grace of God and His atonement through Christ seeks to gain atonement by various degrees of a masochistic self-flagellation or a sadistic scapegoating of others. You can see this in members of your family or church, co-workers at the office, and genocidal extermination by the governments of the earth. That is why there is a fifth element of the "self-evident truths" articulated by America's Founders:
On TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 1781, "The United States in Congress assembled, agreed to the following proclamation":
On MARCH 6, 1799, President John Adams proclaimed a day of fasting and prayer, that Americans would
President Adams proclaimed a day of prayer to this Trinitarian God because "God's invisible attributes," "even His eternal power and Godhead," are "clearly understood through the things that are made," so that atheists "are without excuse." (Romans 1:20) Every human being ever created -- even those in so-called "pagan" lands -- need only take the next step to get back to God. We may not know exactly where that step will eventually lead us, but every human being, created in the Image of God, has a conscience that knows what the next step should be (Romans 2:14-15). This knowledge is often suppressed in favor of selfish and evil lifestyles (Romans 1:18-19). But this knowledge of the Triune God of the Bible is still "self-evident" to every human being. Theocracy"Theocracy" is a "self-evident" truth, though the word is passionately hated by many. The word "theocracy" comes from two Greek words: theos + kratein
